Anne-Hélène Couturier: Making thoughtful choices

As part of our campaign celebrating authentic beauty, we are pleased to introduce Anne-Hélène Couturier. She attaches great importance to using cosmetics that reflect her personality by favouring products that go hand-in-hand with her values. Rather than giving in to fleeting trends, Anne-Hélène makes thoughtful and sincere choices. Her approach perfectly embodies the spirit of Sans-Façon: simplicity, authenticity and self-respect. We are honoured to have her among the ambassadors of this unique initiative.

Here are her answers to the questions we asked her about her cosmetics habits, her purchasing process, and her perception of the industry in general.

How do you feel about the cosmetics industry in general?

I was raised in fashion: my mother was a hairdresser and my grandfather was in design. It was always natural for me to be immersed in the world of beauty, fashion, and all of that. I think we need to look at cosmetics like an ally. We need to find the shoe that fits us, the values we care about. We need to determine for ourselves what we like and what we don’t, or which trends we should follow or not. We don’t all need to fit into the same mold; instead, we should try to create our own!

What important aspect does a product need to possess before you buy it?

There is a new attention to detail to the ingredients are that used in cosmetic products and I can definitely say I’ve jumped on that bandwagon. That stuff has always interested me! We can’t forget that we’re putting these products directly on our skin, so we have the choice not to poison ourselves or cause our skin harm just because this or that influencer is pushing a specific product. There’s an increased concern in general society about the source of ingredients in products and that’s something I really believe in too.

What attracted you to Sans-Façon?

I was attracted to Sans-Façon because the products are simple and genuine. The range is just elaborate enough and just easy enough, and it’s a line that’s been released slowly. I think that's much better than launching several products at once and then having customers not really know which way to look. I really like the fact that there is a variety in terms of cosmetic, hair care and skin care products. There is a nice range at the moment and I know that it will develop in the coming years. I think it's the right pace; that's what I liked!

What is your favorite product from the Sans-Façon range?

I don't want to change perfume anymore. I really don't want to change perfume anymore. It's become my scent. I like the fact that it can be worn during the day or for going out. It's become my scent and it's become distinctive and my friends and family know it.
